Jasper Nathaniel Brown
Aug 10, 2018Jasper Nathaniel Brown, age 88, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Evans Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Brown was born May 28, 1930, in Savannah, Georgia, to Jasper Nathaniel and Allie Gay Brown. He resided in Broward County, Florida, from 1955 to 1998 before moving to Claxton and was a member of Daisy United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Jasper was preceded in death by seven siblings and his wife of 67 years, Hilda Lowe Brown. Mr. Brown is survived by his children, Jacquelyn Bowman (Bob) of Hoschton, Jerry Brown (Michele) of Boca Raton, Fla.; Holly Wintermute (Doug) of Woodruff, S.C.; and Hope Gray (Jermaine) of Statesboro; brother, Willis Brown of St. Augustine, Fla.; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A gathering of family and friends will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2018, at Hodges-Moore Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 11, 2018, in the chapel of Hodges-Moore Funeral Home with the Reverend Tammy G. Fincher officiating. Burial will follow in Upper Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Brown, Douglas Wintermute, Stephen Potter, Daniel Wintermute, Robert Dube’, Olivia Gray and Jermaine TN Gray.
